Speed and Efficiency: How to Deploy an Industrial Robot Without Stopping Production and Extra Costs

Planning automation but worried about long deployment times, huge investments and downtime? In modern realities, these barriers are a thing of the past. We tell you how modern solutions from Tavrida Robotics allow you to deploy an industrial robot without stopping the main line.

Why companies are afraid of automation

The typical fears of an automation manager:

  • “Six months of installation — we will miss the season / fail the contract”
  • “Millions of investment — and what if it doesn’t work out?”
  • “The line will stand idle — we will lose customers”
  • “We will need to retrain staff — they will leave”

All these fears are based on the experience of the 1990s–2010s, when the deployment of an industrial robot was indeed a multi-month project. Modern technologies have changed this dramatically.

What has changed

  1. Modular solutions. A robot is no longer a single machine that needs to be integrated into the line. It is a set of modules that connect via standard interfaces.

  2. Digital twin. Before installing a real robot, we build its digital twin — a virtual copy that works in the same conditions as the real one. We test the entire cycle of operations, optimize the trajectories — and only then transfer to production.

  3. Plug-and-play. Modern robots connect to the line through standard industrial protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, Profinet). Integration time — from 1 day.

  4. Parallel installation. The robot is installed and configured in parallel with the line operation. Switching — on a weekend or a shift change.

How we work

Stage 1: Audit (1–2 weeks). We study the production, identify bottlenecks, calculate the potential effect. After the audit — a specific plan: what to automate, in what order, with what effect.

Stage 2: Design (2–4 weeks). We design the robot cell, choose the equipment, develop the program. All this — in parallel with the main production.

Stage 3: Pilot zone (2–4 weeks). We allocate a zone for the pilot — 5–10% of the production volume. The robot works in parallel with the main line. Operators see the effect “live”.

Stage 4: Scaling (1–3 months). After successful pilot, we scale the solution to the entire production. By this time, the staff is already trained, the processes are worked out.

Case: deployment at a confectionery factory

In January 2026, we deployed a robotic packaging line at a confectionery factory in Simferopol.

Initial data:

  • Manual packaging — 800 packages per hour
  • Quality of packaging — 94% (defects due to human factor)
  • 4 packagers on the line

What we did:

  • Week 1–2: audit, design
  • Week 3: pilot zone — robot packs 200 packages per hour in parallel with the main line
  • Week 4: training of operators, optimization of the program
  • Week 5: full launch — robot packs 1200 packages per hour

Result:

  • Speed — 1.5 times higher than manual
  • Quality — 99.5%
  • The factory did not stop — the transition was smooth
  • Two packagers were retrained as operators of the robotic line, two — transferred to a new packaging area that opened thanks to the growth

Case: deployment at a metalworking enterprise

A small enterprise in Bakhchisaray — 30 people, 60% of orders are serial production of metal parts. We deployed a robotic welding cell for the most popular product.

Initial data:

  • Manual welding — 12 parts per shift
  • Quality — depends on the welder, 92–96%
  • Waiting for a welder — a constant bottleneck

What we did:

  • Audit — 3 days
  • Robot cell installation — 2 weeks (in parallel with main production)
  • Program writing — 1 week
  • Pilot — 2 weeks (robot welded in parallel with manual)
  • Full launch — the robot takes 60% of serial orders

Result:

  • Output increased by 35% (without hiring a welder)
  • Quality — 99.2% stable
  • Waiting time — 0 (orders go to the robot instantly)

What you get

  • Deployment without stopping production
  • Pilot zone before large investments
  • ROI calculation based on real data
  • Staff training and adaptation
  • 12 months of service

If you are planning automation and are worried about the risks — write to us via our contact form. We will conduct an audit and offer a pilot zone to test the technology without stopping your main production.
